Our bodies, for whatever reason, seem to love being fat. I think it has something to do with how in human history, sometimes people have not had enough food to get by, so our bodies seem to want to keep as much fat on them as possible to keep us from starving in times of hunger. Years of evolution and conditioning have trained humans to let themselves get fat to help keep them alive. If you’re wondering why it’s so hard to lose weight, and lose fat, it’s because we’re fighting our body’s instincts for survival. This could all be a load of garbage…I don’t know, but it’s just what I think. It takes a lot of work to fight our bodies’ strategies of survival. For example, when we start doing a certain exercise that initially works incredible well, our body eventually adapts, and doesn’t let us get the same result from doing the same exercise. It’s pretty lousy, so we always have to find new ways to exercise to keep our body guessing. We’ve got to attack the fat from all angles until it just has no where to hide. I looked up some ways to help keep some variety in your work outs. Just check out http://web.wm.edu/speedstrength/exercise%20Techniques.html?svr=www for some pretty good ways to keep fat off your body.
A treadmill is a pretty good way to lose fat….and if you can’t afford one, check out some treadmill coupons to help you; they’re pretty great. It’s a good idea that whatever workout you’re doing to work certain areas of your body, make sure you get a lot of cardiovascular exercise as well. That will help you burn the fat calories you’re taking in, and help you just be fitter and leaner over all. Give it a try if you haven’t yet.
